Daniel 1:12
Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.
I was doing a research on pulse and lentils to find out if there is a difference in Scripture.
This is what I found out: https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H2235&t=KJV
The word "zeroa" means vegetables/herbs, it doesn't mean per se pulses https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/beans-and-pulses-nutrition/
I am still triggered by :
Genesis 25:30
And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
Genesis 25:34
Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
This is what you will find https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H122&t=KJV
What has been translated as red pottage is in Hebrew two times the word "red" then you see that the same word "âdôm" used in 2 Kings 3:22 is translated: as red as blood.
2 Kings 3:22
And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
So I am wondering if this red pottage was not in fact made out of kidney beans because all around the Americas as well as the Carribeans red beans and rice are still used in our food. It is a very common thing.
Lentils, the orange kind is mainly used in India.
I believe that not only the landscape and nature will lead us to our ancestors but also food described in Our Records like corn that they have changed in new translated version of our writings.
Thanks Sis, great information
