19. For have I not said If you are not one you are not mine And are you not gathering into a condemned city thinking also like those of Jerusalem that it is a place of safety and refuge
20. And have I not also sent my prophets to you preaching repentance and speaking of the eternal nature of my Son Where are those prophets now Have you embraced the words I gave unto them to deliver unto you so that you have made the eternal nature of my Son a way of life
21 And have I not also in like manner as with the Brass plates sent again my word among you in the Sealed Portion of he Brother of Jared
22. What have you done with it Where are the works of your repentance Are you not also stubborn to believe that your city can not be destroyed
23. I say unto you that your city utterly be burned with fire And it will only be those who have not gathered there who will be spared
24. For I have in days gone by firmly established you But you have abandoned me to uphold wicked leaders And you have turn your hearts away from me And you each say I I am the Lord's And thus everyone say who not of the Lord
25. Therefore my word is now come unto you Flee from out the midst of your wicked city Depart out from Babylon for even now the hand of an oppressor is being made ready And the city of Independence and all the surrounding areas will be utterly burned with fire to hide your abominations from me
26. And it is my will that any who remain among you will yet find it in their hearts to repent away from the traditions of their fathers and listen to my voice to follow my Son whithersoever He goes taking no thought for their own lives
27. And it is my desire that you will walk no more in the way of the people But that you will gather unto me in places of righteousness that I have prepared Where you can live according to all that I have said unto you And also so that you can live with one heart and mind having all things in common And where you can can make the eternal nature of my Son a way of life And contentions can be done away
28. Know this day that this word has come to you because there are yet holy ones who love you And they have endured to plead with me for you sake
29. Therefore heed this last word of warning And come out of her oh my people that you receive not of her plagues
30 For in some future day the people who remain who follow after the witness of Joseph Smith will live to return to Independence
31 And they shall be known among men as the children of the ruins For after the city has been destroyed and cleansed with a great cleansing it yet in some future day will be part of my Zion
****32. Therefore flee not in disarray And seek me out carefully concerning where and when you should go And hearken with all diligence to that which has come to you in the Sealed Portion of the Brother of Jared For in this holy word is to be found the way to accomplish repentance and holiness of heart For it is by your repentance to return unto me that you may be led safely past the great calamities which wait you
33 Even so I bring this for your blessing and your benefit For my love for you is yet calling to you That you may not receive of the plagues that come to the wicked unless you choose to be numbered among them Even so Amen
