Deuteronomy 32:7

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.”

My Paw-Paw was a great man he would take me fishing and talk about the days of old at the time I did not understand some things but was amazed at his stories and now I fully understand why.

He told me we were Native Indians but it wasn’t a cool thing to call you Indian because it would get you hurt if not worse killed. His father’s father told him how they took the young boys and girls from their parents and sent them to boarding schools to learn the white man’s way and how we had no choice but to become like their ways just to survive striped of our heritage and our language and our beliefs you brothers and sisters know most of this.

I asked my Paw-Paw why Indians had feathers and he told me it was a great crown for our people I asked him how did they get the feathers? Did they just find them on the ground he told me no they would take them from the Eagle? I asked him how then my Paw-Paw told me that they would dig a pit and use sticks and grass and leafs then they would take a rabbit tie a string around its foot and when the Eagle swooped down on it they would grab the Eagle above its talons hold it and take some of its feathers for their crowns (bonnets) then let him fly off.

The Eagle is very sacred bird of prey the most majestic of all the fowl.

Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Deuteronomy 33:20

“And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.”

1 Chronicles 12:8

“And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;”

1 Chronicles 5:18

“The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.”

Remember the days of old I miss spending time with my Paw-Paw he passed many years ago he was my very best friend but will always be strong in my spirit and my father passed away this year I was thinking about both of them today my did not elaborate on much of this information with me but I am very thankful for my Paw-Paw because he did. I came into understanding about three and a half years ago of who I am days before my dad passed I shared with him what I know and he repented and was washed clean can’t wait to see them both again. I have passed on the days of old with my son that is what The Most High meant when he said remember the days of old.

Spend time with the elders in your family ask the about the days of old maybe you can find out more than you know if information is passed down from generation to generation it may surprise you what you learn or try hard to remember the time you spent with them and what they told you as a child.
